This is a great book! The way the author presents the theory, formulas and applications followed by an example is an effective way to understand the material. Another good thing about the book is that at the start of every section there are objectives which gives you a scope of what are the themes that you must learn.

This book is very practical, specially in chapters of absorption, desorption (packed, sieve tray) and distillation columns. What makes this book an amazing one is the integration of the mass transfer phenomena with the mathetical computer program, MathCAD to solve tedious problems. The author presents MathCAD routines in the chapters and also in some of the appendixes. All you have to do is copy those routines and you are instantly solving problems.

This is very useful in the design of separation columns (chapters 4 - 6) and when calculating diffusion coefficients (chapter 1).
